ECE R65 Class 2 includes two levels of brightness: by day and by night. The daytime output is 2.3× brighter than the nighttime output, meaning this beacon can be used legally both day and night. ECE R65 Class 1 beacons have only one brightness level (night) and cannot be used legally during the day.
