Halo Kit Training

Thank you for visiting the training for halo kits. Please review this information and complete the brief 3-question assessment at the end. (This training cannot count towards your goal without a completed assessment.)

Our halo kits are some of the most popular head-turning modifications you can do for a small investment. Each halo utilizes the latest lighting technology and the highest quality materials available on the market. Our halos outshine competitors with vivid color and sustainable brightness that can be seen even in direct sunlight! Even if we don't offer a pre-made kit for a vehicle, we can find sizes for almost any vehicle if you contact your sales rep for custom options.

Each kit includes the following:
- (2, 4, or 6) halos, depending on the vehicle
- ORACLE Drivers
- Vehicle Specific Wiring
- Installation Instructions

Style and Color Options

We offer SMD halo kits and select Plasma halo kits for your vehicle needs. Depending on the style, our halos have a lifetime upwards of 50,000 hours of continuous use.

SMD halos use a circuit board with individual LED chips that produce the brightest light output while consuming a small amount of power. The "Surface Mount Diode" chips are installed onto a CAD-designed 6-layer PCB (Printed Circuit Board) which is very sturdy and will not break if pressured. The PCB can easily be mounted to a headlight housing using the pre-installed 3M adhesive tape backing.

Plasma halos contain a gel-coated board that appears as one solid ring rather than as individual LEDs. The Plasma halos feature dozens of semiconductors which make direct contact to the circuit board essentially turning the entire Plasma ring into one LED.

Choose our ColorSHIFT® Technology that allows you to select from thousands of colors. Select kits are also available in the new Dynamic ColorSHIFT® with individually addressable LEDs which allow the user to run multiple moving color patterns. Opt for a single-color kit for a more simple product or for a customer with a color-themed vehicle.

*Please note, our exterior surface-mount halos will not be included in this training as they will have a separate one. This training only covers internally-installed halos.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will halos replace headlights?
Halos do not replace headlight bulbs, and they are simply an aftermarket accessory. You will still need to use your factory bulbs or an aftermarket headlight bulb upgrade. We offer a variety of options for bulbs!

What colors are street-legal?
We always recommend checking your local laws before any vehicle modifications, but white and amber are legal for on-road use in all 50 states. Red and blue are usually the two non-legal colors that we suggest wiring to a remote or switch to easily flip back to white for driving. All other colors depend upon your local and state regulations.

Will installing an halo kit void my vehicle’s warranty?
You should check with your dealership to be sure, but most will not void the warranty since the halos have a separate wiring harness that doesn’t affect the electrical system on the vehicle.

Please review our example installation guides for halo kits. Other troubleshooting and installation FAQs are listed below for reference as well. Since you will be opening the headlight housing, we highly recommend completing the DIY Installation training for information regarding baking/cutting open housings, technical recommendations, and more.

Many customers will want to pair their LED halos with other products so it's important to know how to best use products together. This will result in an easier install and a better functioning setup! Here's some of our suggestions for pairings:

ColorSHIFT Halos + BC1 Bluetooth Controller: This is a popular combination for a good reason as many people are looking for smartphone control for their automotive lights. The controller can easily operate multiple ColorSHIFT products together. The rugged waterproof durability and one easy app is a great sell to your customers. If they choose to add rock lights, that controller uses the same app which will make the operation easy in one place.

Of course, you can use whichever ColorSHIFT or single-color control option you desire. Check out our training modules below to learn about the available options. ColorSHIFT Control Training | Single-Color Control Training

ColorSHIFT Halos + ColorSHIFT Projector Demon Eyes: Pairing these together in lights with projectors can be a very interesting look that many customers will enjoy. The LED demon eye will allow you to illuminate or backlight projector lenses, and you can easily set up two zones to create different color combinations.

When installing products inside a lighting housing and into the vehicle have other accessories and parts that may help with your installation.

Our Premium Headlight Sealant (also available in a bulk-discounted case quantity) is specifically formulated for automotive headlight sealing applications. The waterproof silicone has a tack time of 30, minutes and cures in three hours (6 hours recommend to ensure full cure.)

The Halo Installation Kit has everything you need to complete your halo kit installation into the vehicle wrapped up in a single package!

You should complete the requirements to be listed as an Installer or Preferred Installer on our retail-facing store locator. This is a great way to get in front of local customers as our team forwards them to this search tool to find authorized shops in their area. With more than 1,500 monthly visits to this tool, you should take advantage of this placement. Once you finish the program to be a Preferred Dealer, you will be designated as a Preferred Installer as well.

To be listed online as an Installer/Preferred Installer, you must these simple steps:
• Complete one installation at your shop.
• Send a photo of this installation to your sales rep and list the product(s) used.
• To be Preferred, you must complete the regular requirements for a Preferred Dealer (3x quarterly trainings, meeting J-15+ goals directly, and maintaining a retail location).

In your showroom or store lobby, one great idea is to set up a display such as our Pre-Assembled Headlight Display (part #8043) with halos on a countertop with a nearby control option for easy demonstration or letting customers see how it works with them. You can also create your own display if you wish, especially if you shop is able to offer additional services like custom paining or projector retrofitting. Keeping a display on a countertop nearby for easy demonstration will help your customers feel comfortable selecting that product. It will encourage customers to ask questions about your product offerings and install process when they are able to see quality workmanship up close.

If you have a shop truck or promotional vehicle, consider installing LED halos on the vehicle to showcase the installed result when consulting with customers. Being able to see what the product will look like in person will help customers feel more confident with their choice. If the vehicle has multiple products, you can easily demonstrate how to control them together.

It takes a customer's trust to choose a shop to perform labor on their vehicle, and many people turn to social media to see your handiwork and other people's experience.

When promoting on social media, choose high-quality photos and videos to show off the product you offer and tag @oraclelights so people know that you are an authorized dealer. Where possible, promote your installation service by taking photos of your own work and update followers on build progress. If you choose to use a customer's photo or one you find on our profile, remember to credit the vehicle's owner. If you have a large build that displays your work well, you can consider hiring a local photographer to take professional photos (with the customer's permission) to use for promotional purposes. Tag your shop location and use hashtags such as #customheadlights #oraclelights #retrofitting.

Posting on your Instagram or Facebook Story will also help more people find your page; Instagram especially promotes Stories over regular postings! Use a location tag for your shop, and that will show your Story the Explore page of customers near you. Be sure to have your contact information on your profile so they can easily contact you or invite them to message you on the platform if it is regularly monitored.

You can even display a tablet or television in your showroom with a slideshow of the photos you take and post. Many people like to see how the products will look when installed on their vehicle so use photos of the services you actually offer on your most regularly service vehicle. We've included a few examples for you here:

Example #1: Your business services many customized cars so you feature a Camaro with headlight and fog light halos, and the caption offers a special bundle discount on this service.

Example #2: Your shop has Mopar-driving customers so you post a Charger with triple halos with a call to stand out from the other Mopars at their next show.
